Many studies have looked at CBD’s effect on the immune system. These studies have found that CBD is an immunomodulator—it can both suppress and boost the immune system, depending on the circumstances.

Whether CBD and other cannabinoids can help us avoid the cold or flu is still unknown. There’s still no research available to suggest that they can cure the common cold or the flu, but CBD (cannabidiol) and CBG (cannabigerol) are shown to have powerful anti-inflammatory properties that  translates into us  feeling better when we’re under the weather.

If you’ve got the cold or flu, CBD’s anti-inflammatory properties may help you feel better by:

  • Easing sinus pressure and headaches
  • Soothing aches and pains
  • Reducing nausea
  • Calming a persistent cough

And when we feel better, we’re more likely to take better care of ourselves and recover more quickly.

Endocannabinoid receptors are prevalent in eye structures, and interestingly, CBG is thought to be particularly effective in treating glaucoma because it reduces intraocular pressure. It is a powerful vasodilator and has neuroprotective effects to boot.

CBG is showing great promise as a cancer fighter. Specifically, CBG was shown to block receptors that cause cancer cell growth.

European research shows evidence that CBG is an effective antibacterial agent, particularly against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) microbial strains resistant to several classes of drugs. Since the 1950s, topical formulations of cannabis have been effective in skin infections, but researchers at the time were unaware of the plant’s chemical composition.

In a study that looked at the effects of five different cannabinoids on bladder contractions, CBG tested best at inhibiting muscle contractions, so it may be a future tool in preventing bladder dysfunction disorders.

Because it is non-psychotropic, CBG has a promising wide range of potential applications not only for the problems mentioned above, but also as an analgesic, therapy for psoriasis, and as an antidepressant.

CBN acts an agonist to the TRPV2 receptor, a naturally producing protein that regulates several biological systems in the human body. This makes CBN potentially effective for combatting pain and inflammation, bone health, controlling convulsant behavior, lowering blood pressure, and treating skin conditions.

There are more than 120 identified Cannabinoids that in nature, are almost exclusively synthesized in the Hemp plant or Cannabis Sativa L, including CBD but very little to no THC. Federally legal full spectrum hemp oil (FSHO) is the source.
